Is the State of Alabama Closed to Riding? As of Jan. 7 2009, Derrick at KCPowersports.com in Hunstville, Alabama reports that just about everything has been closed down to riding.
But the game isn't over yet, MX riders... Derrick tells us that Coleman, on the edge of Dodge City, has an area opening up for camping, vehicles, and horses that's 1500 acres in size. If everything goes ok with this, he says that the builders plan to double the size, and add another 1500 acres on the backside.
For now, the most popular area for riding is the Tennessee Coal Mines, just across the Tenessee border off Highway 231.
So, all this considered, if you live in Alabama, you might need to make some phone calls before you load up your bikes and hit the road.
